The first step in being reconciled to God is to acknowledge Him.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The second step is to be truthful. The first step in being truthful is to acknowledge your sins before God through confession.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The second step in being truthful is to profess Jesus Christ.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The third step is to tithe. You may be saying to yourself, “Pfft, I can’t live on what I got, how can I tithe.”

When the truth is you can’t live on what you got because you don’t tithe. In all truth, all of what you earn is God’s. He is the one who made you and gave you the skills to earn what you earn. To give him only 10% is nothing. I had a dream once where I went to pick up my check from my employer and just as I was about to take it God stepped in and took it. I remember feeling vey cheated. I said to Him, “Hey wait just one minute. I worked hard for that money and it is mine.”

Then He said to me, “I’ll tell you what, I’ll give you 10% of it.”

I replied, “What? That’s nothing!” The knowing of it overwhelmed me how little it really was compared to the entire amount.

God could have said, “My point exactly”, but in His infinite mercy and love he just smiled when He knew I knew. Trusting Him for everything is part of the plan. “In all thy ways acknowledge Him.”

So trust Him, be truthful, and tithe. That’s it? Just three Ts?

The fourth step is to Love one another.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

The Spirit of God teaches us to love one another. We are called to love.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

The fifth step in being reconciled to God is to “Go and sin no more.”

13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

Thank-you LORD for saving my soul. Thank-you LORD for making me whole. Thank-you LORD for giving to me, thy great salvation so rich and free.
