When I was about ten, I got my first pair of glasses. Now before I got them, I did not know that I could not see. That first time I put on my new glasses, I was amazed at what I was able to see. I could see the individual leaves on trees and individual gravel pebbles on the ground.

We know from the bible that God “sees” all things.

Psalm 33:12-14 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people he chose for his inheritance.
13 From heaven the Lord looks down
    and sees all mankind;
14 from his dwelling place he watches
    all who live on earth—

Psalm 34:15-19 15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
    and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to blot out their name from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;

God has many actions.

John 21:24-25

24 This is the disciple which testifies of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

When we call to him, he answers.

Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

The Lord “vindicates”.

Deuteronomy 32:36 36 The Lord will vindicate his people
    and relent concerning his servants
when he sees their strength is gone
    and no one is left, slave or free.

The Lord “speaks”.

Genesis 1:3  And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

The Lord does “marvelous works”.

Isaiah 29:14 14 Therefore once more I will astound these people
    with wonder upon wonder;
the wisdom of the wise will perish,
    the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.

The Lord listens.

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
    and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

The Lord suffered for sin.

1 Peter 3:18 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

The Lord has gone to heaven.

1 Peter 3:21-22 Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

God calls.

1 Samuel 3:4 Then the Lord called Samuel.

Samuel answered, “Here I am.”

God gives counsel.

37 So Saul asked God, “Shall I go down and pursue the Philistines? Will you give them into Israel’s hand?” But God did not answer him that day.

He directs.

Proverbs 3:6 in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 16:9 In their hearts humans plan their course,
    but the Lord establishes their steps.

He saves.

Isaiah 45:17 Isaiah 45:17New International Version (NIV)

17 But Israel will be saved by the Lord
    with an everlasting salvation;
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,
    to ages everlasting.

He justifies.

Isaiah 45:25 25 But all the descendants of Israel
    will find deliverance in the Lord
    and will make their boast in him.

He creates.

Isaiah 45:18 18 For this is what the Lord says—
he who created the heavens,
    he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
    he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
    but formed it to be inhabited—
he says:
“I am the Lord,
    and there is no other.

He establishes our thoughts.

Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
    and he will establish your plans.

He is merciful, truthful, respectable.

Proverbs 16:6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
    through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.

He gives peace.

Proverbs 16:7 When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way,
    he causes their enemies to make peace with them.

He gives us all things.

Romans 8:32 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

He leads us by His Spirit.

Romans 8:14 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

He heals the sick.

Mark 1:34 34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

He sees, hears, delivers, is close, saves, keeps, opens the eyes of the blind, helps, creates, gives hope, keeps truth forever, executes judgment, gives food to the hungry, looses prisoners, loves us, preserves, relieves orphans and widows.

But more important than all these is “He Reigns.”

Psalm 24:7-10

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.
