As we age, we have to create reminders to ourselves to do the things we need to get done. Some people put string on their fingers while others set alarms on their smart phones. I’m a list maker. I make “To Do” lists and check them off one by one each day. One of the things I often do is blog.

The reason I blog is in the bible:

Psalm 107:1-3 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
    those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
those he gathered from the lands,
    from east and west, from north and south.

Recorded in God’s Word are many reminders of his deeds toward men.

It isn’t where you are in your journey of life, but rather how far you’ve come. Looking back helps us to see just how far we’ve come.

I’m not going to post the whole chapter here but I hope you will take the time to read it for yourself. I will just highlight a few of the verses.

Before we are saved, we all have different circumstances that draw us to God.

Psalm 107:4 Some wandered in desert wastelands.

Psalm 107:10 10 Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness,
    prisoners suffering in iron chains.

Psalm 107:17 17 Some became fools through their rebellious ways
    and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.

Psalm 107:23 23 Some went out on the sea in ships;
    they were merchants on the mighty waters.

Wherever you started, whatever you’ve done, God knows and loves you. God reminds us of our past so that we can “give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
    and his wonderful deeds for mankind.”
