God’s Unity Wednesday, Jul 12 2017

I would like to draw your attention to a very important fact and that fact is this; if you being a Christian are in unity with “the world” you’ve got a problem. Indeed you have a problem that you may not even be aware that you’ve got. You may be asking me, “How do you know that this is a problem? What proof have you of it?”

The Word is my proof. Paul says in his second epistle to the Corinthians in Chapter 6 verse 14: 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

Jesus himself said it in John 17 verse 16: 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

What does all of this have to do with God’s Unity?

Before we can discuss this topic you need to know what you are to be in unity with. So let us now get on with it, the topic at hand, God’s Unity.

It is and always has been God’s overall purpose for man. It says this in the book of Ephesians chapter 1 verses 9-11: he[a] made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

11 In him we were also chosen,[b] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

So there you have it. Proof. Right there in black and white. God’s whole plan is unity. He is weaving a tapestry of our lives together as Christians thread by thread. With great carefulness, skill, intricacy he is weaving each thread. And we are the threads. You are a part of something bigger than yourself. You are God’s workmanship. It says so in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10: For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

You’re not in this alone. I am in it with you. And you are in it with me. We together “in unity” working to will and to do his good pleasure. That is the mystery of God’s plan. That he is able to conform us. It says so in His Word in the book of Jude last verse: 24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

When God finishes his work, He intends to be glorified in it and by it.

God’s Freedom Sunday, Jul 9 2017

Isaiah 61:1-3

61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,     because the Lord has anointed me     to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,     to proclaim freedom for the captives     and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a] to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor     and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,     and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty     instead of ashes, the oil of joy     instead of mourning, and a garment of praise     instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness,     a planting of the Lord     for the display of his splendor.

When we are in Christ, all of these promises apply to every aspect of our lives, “health-physical”, “salvation-spiritual”, and “freedom-mind and emotions”. The devil will try to blind you to the truth because he does not want you to be what God has already made you. “Free indeed”.

During my bible study, today, every single place I referred to brought up the word, “freedom”. Joyce Meyer’s talk was titled “Can you help me find freedom?” The Abide prayer was on “freedom”. The Mysteries of God study was on “freedom”.  The Life Project study was on “freedom” and used the above verses to illustrate the point. To me this was a way for the Holy Spirit to say to me, “This is me, I am confirming that this is what I want you to see today in the Word.”

Verse 1: We are each anointed for our gifting. (Mine is financial wellness.)

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,     because the Lord has anointed me     to proclaim good news to the poor. (I am anointed to tell the good news “to the poor”. This is poor health, poor as in “unsaved”, and poor as in “debt ridden”.)

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,     to proclaim freedom for the captives     and release from darkness for the prisoners.

He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted. (bring financial wellness)

To proclaim freedom to the captives (debt ridden.)

And release from darkness for the prisoners. (light of truth on your financial situation).

Verse 2: Why he sent me?

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor     and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

He has sent me to tell you that now is the time. We are in the year of the LORD’s favor. The day of vengeance has come against the devil who has blinded believers. To comfort (The Holy Spirit is our Comforter. All-that means you too. Who mourn- or who are saddened by their burden of debt.)

Verse 3:  …continued reasons and ultimate purpose: To the glory of God.

and provide for those who grieve in Zion— (make a way out) to bestow on them a crown of beauty (to give)     instead of ashes, (messed up finances, illness, unsaved) the oil of joy (fruit of the Spirit)     instead of mourning, (burden of debt, sickness, sin) and a garment of praise (thankfulness)     instead of a spirit of despair. (hopelessness) They will be called oaks of righteousness, (In Christ we have his Righteousness)     a planting of the Lord (we have a seed sown in our hearts that will bear much fruit both now and in the kingdom to come)     for the display of his splendor. (TO THE GLORY OF GOD. WE GLORIFY GOD THROUGH ALL ASPECTS OF OUR LIVES INCLUDING HEALTH, SALVATION, AND FREEDOM. In Christ, we are “free indeed!”)

In all things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37

Manna Tuesday, Jul 4 2017

Ice wings feathered across the morning light.

Only one last chance to see the right.

By God’s grace we’ll fly beyond the veil,

And see the mist of morning’s descending quail.

God’s provision, manna to the soul.

And meat within the vision of the bowl.

Let us honor God our Lord true.

His lessons learned on cue.

And let not our rapture dim

The love of God within.

For by His grace we honor Him.

Collide our questions in His view

As His love we renew.

Each new day our hearts ascend

To the Lord; our forever friend.
