Come Back to the LORD- Day 10 Saturday, Mar 31 2018

The Scriptures for today may be found in the book of Psalms chapter 119 verses 73-80:

Yodh.

73 Your hands made me and [a]fashioned me;
Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.
74 May those who [b]fear You see me and be glad,
Because I [c]wait for Your word.
75 I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are righteous,
And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.
76 O may Your lovingkindness [d]comfort me,
According to Your [e]word to Your servant.
77 May Your compassion come to me that I may live,
For Your law is my delight.
78 May the arrogant be ashamed, for they subvert me with a lie;
But I shall meditate on Your precepts.
79 May those who [f]fear You turn to me,
Even those who know Your testimonies.
80 May my heart be [g]blameless in Your statutes,
So that I will not be ashamed.

For we know Psalm 139:12-14

12 Even the darkness is not dark [a]to You,
And the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You.

13 For You formed my [b]inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, for [c]I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.

Come Back to the LORD-Day 9 Friday, Mar 30 2018

The Scripture for today can be found in the book of Psalms chapter 119 verses 65-72:

Teth.

65 You have dealt well with Your servant,
O Lord, according to Your word.
66 Teach me good [a]discernment and knowledge,
For I believe in Your commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.
68 You are good and do good;
Teach me Your statutes.
69 The arrogant [b]have forged a lie against me;
With all my heart I will observe Your precepts.
70 Their heart is [c]covered with fat,
But I delight in Your law.
71 It is good for me that I was afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.
72 The law of Your mouth is better to me
Than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

There are benefits in coming back to the LORD. He teaches us directly from His Word. His Word is applicable to all people in all times in all places in all circumstances.

For we know Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

Come Back to the Lord-Day 8 Thursday, Mar 29 2018

The Scripture we are studying today can be found in the book of Psalms chapter 119: 57-64

Psalm 119:57-64 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Heth.

57 The Lord is my portion;
I have [a]promised to keep Your words.
58 I sought Your favor with all my heart;
Be gracious to me according to Your [b]word.
59 I considered my ways
And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
60 I hastened and did not delay
To keep Your commandments.
61 The cords of the wicked have encircled me,
But I have not forgotten Your law.
62 At midnight I shall rise to give thanks to You
Because of Your righteous ordinances.
63 I am a companion of all those who [c]fear You,
And of those who keep Your precepts.
64 The earth is full of Your lovingkindness, O Lord;
Teach me Your statutes.

For we know:

Hebrews 1:1-3 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
God’s Final Word in His Son

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, [a]in these last days has spoken to us [b]in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the [c]world. [d]And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and [e]upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

The Lord is our portion. All who seek Him shall not be dismayed.

Come Back to the Lord – Day 7 Wednesday, Mar 28 2018

The scripture for today is Psalms 119:49-56

Zayin.

49 Remember the word to Your servant,
[s]In which You have made me hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
That Your word has [t]revived me.
51 The arrogant utterly deride me,
Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
52 I have remembered Your ordinances from [u]of old, O Lord,
And comfort myself.
53 Burning indignation has seized me because of the wicked,
Who forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes are my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
55 O Lord, I remember Your name in the night,
And keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
[v]That I observe Your precepts.

When the world begins closing in, we are taught to ask “WWJD?”, (what would Jesus do?).

He would seek the Lord in prayer. Go to some quiet place and plead our cause.

For we know:

Psalm 27:4-6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the [a]beauty of the Lord
And to [b]meditate in His temple.
For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His [c]tabernacle;
In the secret place of His tent He will hide me;
He will lift me up on a rock.
And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent sacrifices [d]with shouts of joy;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Come Back to the Lord-Day 6 Tuesday, Mar 27 2018

The Scripture for today can be found in the book of Psalms chapter 119 verses 41-48:

Vav.

41 May Your lovingkindnesses also come to me, O Lord,
Your salvation according to Your [o]word;
42 So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
43 And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I [p]wait for Your ordinances.
44 So I will keep Your law continually,
Forever and ever.
45 And I will walk [q]at liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.
46 I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings
And shall not be ashamed.
47 I shall [r]delight in Your commandments,
Which I love.
48 And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments,
Which I love;
And I will meditate on Your statutes.

We have here in these few verses the entire process of transformation that takes place within the heart and mind of every Christian.

For we know:

Romans 10: 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word [b]of Christ.

Salvation Process

Purpose: the lovingkindnesses of the Lord to come to me.

Reproach: the moment we seek the Lord the enemy begins in earnest.

Trust in the Word: the marvel and wonder of the Scriptural foundation.

Waiting for the work of the Spirit: in God’s timing the seeds of the word sprout.

Keeping the commandments.

Freedom from sin: in Christ

Continual seeking to know Him by the Word of Truth.

Speaking the Word: Verbalizing Scripture creates the train that carries the Scriptures from our minds into the depths of our hearts.

Shamelessness: in Christ.

Delight in the Word: love of God.

Meditation: Prayer is the final seal of conversions. The grace and power of the Almighty works all in all.

Come Back to the Lord- Day 5 Monday, Mar 26 2018

Today’s Scripture can be found in the book of Psalms chapter 119 verses 33-40:

He.

33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
And I shall observe it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law
And keep it with all my heart.
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it.
36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies
And not to dishonest gain.
37 Turn away my eyes from looking at vanity,
And revive me in Your ways.
38 Establish Your [m]word to Your servant,
[n]As that which produces reverence for You.
39 Turn away my reproach which I dread,
For Your ordinances are good.
40 Behold, I long for Your precepts;
Revive me through Your righteousness.

For we know: Ecclesiastes 1:2-4

[a]Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher,
[b]Vanity of vanities! All is [c]vanity.”

What advantage does man have in all his work
Which he does under the sun?
A generation goes and a generation comes,
But the earth [d]remains forever.

I need you, LORD to revive me. Give me a double portion of your Spirit.

In Jesus’ name.

Come Back to the Lord-Day 4 Sunday, Mar 25 2018

The Scripture for today comes from Psalms 119:25-32

Daleth.

25 My soul cleaves to the dust;
Revive me according to Your word.
26 I have told of my ways, and You have answered me;
Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts,
So I will meditate on Your wonders.
28 My soul [k]weeps because of grief;
Strengthen me according to Your word.
29 Remove the false way from me,
And graciously grant me Your law.
30 I have chosen the faithful way;
I have [l]placed Your ordinances before me.
31 I cling to Your testimonies;
O Lord, do not put me to shame!
32 I shall run the way of Your commandments,
For You will enlarge my heart.

For we know: Psalm 84: How blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
In [c]whose heart are the highways to Zion!
Passing through the valley of [d]Baca they make it a [e]spring;
The early rain also covers it with blessings.

And Baca is the valley of tears.

And we sing: Psalm 84: 10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Come Back to the Lord-Day 3 Saturday, Mar 24 2018

This morning’s Scripture may be found in Psalms 119: 17-24

Gimel.

17 Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
Wonderful things from Your law.
19 I am a stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 My soul is crushed [h]with longing
After Your ordinances at all times.
21 You rebuke the arrogant, [i]the cursed,
Who wander from Your commandments.
22 Take away reproach and contempt from me,
For I observe Your testimonies.
23 Even though princes sit and talk against me,
Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my delight;
They are [j]my counselors.

May we come back to him with sincerity and determination like the Psalmist.

Come Back to the Lord-Day 2 Friday, Mar 23 2018

I would like to draw your attention to the Scripture at Psalm 119:9-16

Beth.

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.
10 With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
11 Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord;
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have told of
All the ordinances of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
[e]As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts
And [f]regard Your ways.
16 I shall [g]delight in Your statutes;
I shall not forget Your word.

For we know Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

and we know Psalm 34:4

I sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.

Come Back to the LORD-Part 1 Thursday, Mar 22 2018

This morning I would like to draw your attention to the book of Psalms chapter 119: 1-8

Psalm 119 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Meditations and Prayers Relating to the Law of God.

Aleph.

119 How blessed are those whose way is [a]blameless,
Who walk in the law of the Lord.
How blessed are those who observe His testimonies,
Who seek Him with all their heart.
They also do no unrighteousness;
They walk in His ways.
You have [b]ordained Your precepts,
[c]That we should keep them diligently.
Oh that my ways may be established
To keep Your statutes!
Then I shall not be ashamed
When I look [d]upon all Your commandments.
I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
I shall keep Your statutes;
Do not forsake me utterly!

This is journey of 22 days designed to bring you back to the LORD your God. Come follow me each day for the next 21 days and see and taste that He is good.
