The Scripture for today can be found in the book of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10:

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

As Christians, we are called to fight in a battle against the devil and his minions. Actually; to be honest, it is a war made up of many battles. It isn’t just a matter of a one-time battle that when it is over you get to go home. No, it is full on warfare that lasts our entire lives. It isn’t some namby-pamby skirmish. Every single day, we are to “put on” the armor of God. We are to “put on” Christ.

Joshua 1:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Only be strong and very courageous; [a]be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may [b]have success wherever you go.

2 Chronicles 32:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria nor because of all the horde that is with him; for the one with us is greater than the one with him.

Isaiah 35:4 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Say to those with anxious heart,
“Take courage, fear not.
Behold, your God will come with vengeance;
The recompense of God will come,
But He will save you.”

It isn’t going to do us any good to complain or get discouraged. God does not fight our battles for us, but He does fight our battles with us. We are still called to our duty as Christians. He does not leave us alone on the field of battle. It takes courage to be a Christian.

Perhaps, I should have titled today’s study: “Our Struggles”.
