My Dreams-Part 3 Saturday, Jan 27 2018

Today’s verses come from the longest chapter in the entire bible: Psalm 119 verses 104-106:

04 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.

In the third dream, I found myself walking through a dense thicket. As I was walking pushing aside all of the branches I looked down and I saw that I had a flashlights strapped to the of bottoms my feet. As I looked ahead, I could see into the distance. It was getting darker and darker as I walked along because I was getting deeper and deeper into the woods and because it was dusk.

The meaning of the dream can be found in the verses above and also in Matthew 10:27

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

I believe that God teaches us in the night i.e. darkness what he wants us to speak, and teach, and preach. I think the dense thicket can represent our initial understanding of the Word. We may not fully understand it until the Holy Spirit brings His light onto our path. My pushing aside all the branches represents not allowing the things of this world to get in my way of seeking out God and the meaning of His Word. Being able to see into the distance as I looked ahead was like a promise that if I continued on this path of study I would eventually understand the deeper things the Holy Spirit would reveal. The latter part of the day could represent the latter years of my life.

John 14:26 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I have found in my experience that He does teach us about the character of God if we are willing to stay in the Word. It is a process that starts with us seeking after God and ending with God grafting the Word into our hearts.

Hebrews 7:25 25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

My Dreams-Part 1 Thursday, Jan 25 2018

The verses I would like to draw your attention to are in the book of Job chapter 33 verses 14-16:

14 For God speaks once, yea twice, yet man perceives it not.

15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

16 Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,

There are times in our lives that the only way that we can learn something that God wants us to learn is to get it in a dream at night.

In my own case, I am going to share with you three dreams that I had through the years:

In the first dream, I am in a classroom and I am writing down my sins on a slate with a piece of chalk. As I am writing out this long list, I look up at the top of the list and I see a line going through the sin at the top of the list. I continue writing. Then I look up again and I see a line going through the next sin on the list and the first one on the list begins to fade away. And try as I might, in my dream, I cannot remember what it was that I had “confessed.” I continue writing. Each time I look up, another sin has  a line through it and the one above it fades away and I can’t for the life of me remember what it was that I had written just moments before. Then I woke up.

The interpretation of the dream can be found in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God wanted me to fully understand His faithfulness in removing our sins. He wanted me to know Psalm 103: 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Apparently, I just wasn’t getting it as I kept confessing sins that I had already confessed the day before. I hadn’t been trusting God to be faithful.

That dream had a profound effect on my life. It made me sure that God was actively working with me to build my faith and trust in Him.

I truly believe that God is with us when we sleep. When He says he will never leave us nor forsake us, why would He not care about the 1/3 of our time we spend sleeping?

Next time we get together, I will share the second dream. See you then.

Manna Tuesday, Jul 4 2017

Ice wings feathered across the morning light.

Only one last chance to see the right.

By God’s grace we’ll fly beyond the veil,

And see the mist of morning’s descending quail.

God’s provision, manna to the soul.

And meat within the vision of the bowl.

Let us honor God our Lord true.

His lessons learned on cue.

And let not our rapture dim

The love of God within.

For by His grace we honor Him.

Collide our questions in His view

As His love we renew.

Each new day our hearts ascend

To the Lord; our forever friend.
