God’s Reason Monday, May 22 2017

Psalm 118: 24 This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

1 John 3:7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

David prayed, “Psalm 61:6-8New International Version (NIV)

Increase the days of the king’s life,
his years for many generations.
May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill my vows day after day.

God is in control. David knew it. I know it. And, you know it.

He did not just make the world and then just walk away. He walked with man in the garden. He talked with man in the garden. He walks and talks with us today. God is never changing. He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.

2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.”

He has created us to do his will. Now, tell me this, how are we going to do what God wants us to do if we don’t ask him? And if we do ask him, do we expect to get an answer? When you pray, it had better be a two-sided conversation or you’ll never “get it.”

Jeremiah 29:11New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Ball of Nerves? Take a Knee Thursday, Nov 13 2014

I’m sure you’ve all seen scenes of locker rooms where all the players “get down” and pray together as a show of unity, team spirit, and hope in God’s assurance of victory. Before they’ve ever gotten to that place there have been hours of preparation and training for the game. This time of prayer before a game sets the tone for the team to trust God with the final results of the game. That whether they win or lose they have given it their best shot. They acknowledge God’s part in the game, his strength, his power, his purpose; that they play fair.

You may not be an athlete who is called upon to display your physical endurance to the world, but we are all called to the court of life where we must demonstrate our faith by playing a fair game. So I would encourage you before you begin your day, (game of life) seek God’s counsel through prayer. “Get down” and tell God that you need him. You need His mercy, His grace, His providence. You need His Presence in your life today. You need Him to help you understand the events that will unfold in the coming hours. You need His Joy that gives you strength for this new day. He will be on that court with you. He will hold your hand.

Isaiah 42:6Amplified Bible (AMP)

I the Lord have called You [the Messiah] for a righteous purpose and in righteousness; I will take You by the hand and will keep You; I will give You for a covenant to the people [Israel], for a light to the nations [Gentiles],
