On occasion I like to write about God’s actions in my life. Well, yesterday and the day before he showed up big time. You know those word puzzles where if you look at the words one way they say one thing but if you look at them another way they something else? It is a way to hide something in plain sight. It’s like when Jesus taught his disciples using parables. Everyone could hear the words he was saying but not everyone really heard what he was saying. The meaning behind his words was lost to them because of their perspective.
In the book of Proverbs chapter 25 it says: It is the glory of God to conceal a matter;
to search out a matter is the glory of kings.
3 As the heavens are high and the earth is deep,
so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.
4 Remove the dross from the silver,
and a silversmith can produce a vessel;
5 remove wicked officials from the king’s presence,
and his throne will be established through righteousness.
Yesterday, when I went to get my mail, I came upon a small white feather. It was all fluffy and light. I picked it up and took it as a sign that He was with me. Then in the mail there was a check from the imaging company that had done my mammogram last summer for hundreds of dollars. That is when I remembered the day before the cellular telephone company I use returned the payment I had made this month into my checking account. Combined the total was over $500.
Most people would write this off as a coincidence. But God knows our every need. God is a God of details. I choose to believe that He is my Jehovah Jireh. He takes great joy in being my provider, my king. He does the same for my city, my state, and my nation. His throne will be established through righteousness.
The meaning of the parable is this: Telephones represent communication. Mammograms represent health care. God is at work with congress to lower the cost of health care. For many people when they pulled the health care bill it was devastating for others it was a good thing. I choose to believe the word that says, “As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.” And “remove wicked officials from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness.” And “remove the dross from the silver and the silversmith can produce a vessel.” I choose to believe that God’s hand is draining the swamp.
